Khushi in Hindi means happiness

The Khushi Charitable Society is a registered NGO currently supporting over 450 underprivileged children in our Khushi family and every year we are growing in numbers! We are funded 100% by donations and sponsorships. 

We give our children the gift of happiness by providing the chance of a better future, something they could only dream of without our support. From Primary school to University we cover all their needs including medical bills.

A brief summary of what we provide:

We won the prestigious School Champion Trophy in Diwali Ignite Festival!

On top of being school champion, we also won 8 prizes in total:  First Prize for Solo Dance, Group Dance and Rangoli; Second prize: Group dance, and Third prizes for: carom, poster making and crafts 

Outstanding performance at Krishna Janmashtami competition where we won 2 First Prizes

Our winners are:  Satyam Yadav (class 8) first prize in the Solo Dance category and Roshan Rajbhar (class 8)  first prize in the Krishna Quiz category.

Our first batch of beauticians graduated!

Seven of our girls age 17-20years old have now completed the first year of their Beautician Course. Organised by Khushi teacher Hema Dabral this comprehensive course covers wellness techniques, facial, manicure, pedicure, all aspects of hair dressing, head massage and bridal make up. 

Awareness campaign about the dangers of drug abuse

More than 250 children aged 5 to 18 years old joined the awareness campaign. Mr R. K. Saklani, inspector of Muni KiReti police station spoke to our children about the risks of taking drugs, effects on overall health and the types of temptations that can take place.

Khushi consists of three main programs striving to reach as many of the local kids and young people of the local impoverished areas of Rishikesh as possible with our resources. The departments work as a whole and is organised so that the programs can benefit the children in different ways.  These are our sponsorship of education, skills centre and health care provision.
